Eggs....

derekroddy Mar 11, 2008 08:56 PM

Well, she had NO pre-lay shed.

I've been biting my nails counting down the days since her ovulation.
In the past she started rolling the day before she laid...well, she rolled for 4 days and it made me really tired!!!
I was waking up every 2 hours to check her.
Her eggs are so big that if they adhere together...I can fit them in my incubator!!! LOL.

Anyway, glad she is O.K. as I was thinking she may have become egg bound.
She laid 13 in total.

I have some video of her in labor and rolling and winding around the cage.
It's pretty cool to see.
I'll post it later.
Cheers.

Wow...I feel bad. All I got this morning was 20 good IJ eggs. Same as last year, though.

Nice to see Derek! That is one huge egg for sure. Look forward to seeing what else you have laying and most of all what hatches out this year!

WOW!!! Very nice! Okay, either that hand in the pic is small or that really IS an Ostrich egg! What do they weigh? (if you weigh them).

Best of luck-

Matt
