Our snake died!!!

Fishpeep Mar 11, 2008 11:39 PM

Hello I have not been on here for a couple of years now,but i had to come on here after my 3 yo Grn tr. died tonight! i am actually saddened by this. We have had the snake since he was a baby, and NEVER had any issues with him. He always ate regularly and was happy in his little custome built home. The other day he started laying on the floor of the cage (which I know is not normal usually) and he wouldn't eat the mouse. When we went to mist him tonight, he was dead. I am just wondering if anyone has experiened this, or if maybe someone an give me some insight as to what mifgt have happened to him. Any advice or info appreciated.

Jennifer

well if you haven't seen any signs previous to his death besides laying on the floor for one day, there's just no way to tell other than you get a necropsy done by a vet specialized in reptiles.

was it cbb or farmed, I've heard of many sudden deaths at 2-3 yrs old in farmed animals, less in cbb.

either way it sucks to loose an animal especially if you raised it yourself,

Jurgen.
