Is it just me.....

....or is everyone else having trouble getting frozen rodent orders filled, too? I don't want to give the name of the vendor at this point because I have been using them for years and have been very happy with product and service. However, the last two times I have ordered I have either had to wait for a shipment or go elsewhere because they were out of some of the sizes I needed. Anyone else having trouble? Is there a rodent shortage? I'd hate to find another vendor because, as I said, this company has been great for years but I don't like to keep a lot of excess inventory of mice so I usually wait until I am pretty low to order more and waiting several weeks is not an option (although I suppose I could change my ordering habits). Any thoughts.

All of the producers are having trouble at the moment. I've been told "through the grapevine" that one of the major producers went out of business, leaving the remaining companies to take up the slack.

I would suggest ordering ahead of when you plan on needing rodents. Plan, plan, plan...

...a contingency plan in the form of a supplier of live mice that I can turn to in a pinch. That is why I have always kept my frozen inventory on the low side. I have recently moved, however, and have been having trouble finding a store that sells feeders. I guess I am just going to have to change my ordering practices but I was also curious to see if anyone else was having problems.

i actually mostly switch between 2 frozen rodent companies, but 1 i am happier with and i like their mice better.... but i always have about a 2 week wait period which is crummy b/c of the gravid females....i guess little egg counts for me

which is RP. I waited 3 weeks for my last order with them which was before Christmas. The date they gave me, for when they would arrive was the 17th. Because they were late shipping I got them after christmas. I'm now giving my money to another company that will get there order to me when they tell me it is coming.

The Store i work at has had some trouble getting the mouse orders filled but we always get the rats we need. Like you said too, this is great place to get rodents from, but their supply has been alittle low.
