Red touch black, good for Jack
Red touch yellow, kill a fellow.
That’s the way I remember it.

Here’s an example from a male micrurus that clearly shows that
a slight aberrancy can have the black and red together. This actually is not that uncommon.

The whole story- woops, hopefully not too late!

The saying went........."yellow touching red, haul ass Fred!"

Wow buddy!,...that is one HANDSOM micrurus!, have you had any luck with it eating any of those Ribbon snakes you talked about?

Very nice indeed!

I love corals! Thanx for posting that beauty!
A small colony of house snakes should provide a steady supply of food for them.

I’ll be checking out a small local herp show this weekend (check out apshows.com) for coral snake food! I’m open to trying a few things. They haven’t touched the ribbons, yet. Glad you liked the picture, I have a bunch. Most are freshly sprayed with water droplets, but they really are very shiney. The iridescence really shows in the wide black rings.
