First Eggs

steve fuller Mar 12, 2008 07:57 PM

Eastern indigo, Sister Skink, lay 10/11 good eggs early Tuesday morning, March 11. Eight eggs are large. Two are small. She shed 2/22. Last year she lay 9/11 good eggs. Photo to follow.

Paul, your 4 week wait is encouraging. I have two Drymarchon who are over three weeks now and counting. This is first year for both.

Here are Sister Skink's eggs, laid five days ago, 3/11. One infertile egg went in the compost pile. Last time she also produced a small "pingpong ball" egg similar to one of this year's. Hatchling was perfect but smaller than siblings. I went to perlite this year instead of vermiculite. So far, so good.
