Lavender Pirate Hybrid...

Hollychan Mar 12, 2008 08:39 PM

Thought I'd post a picture of my new snake. I think he'll revolutionize herp bloodlines as we know them. ^_^

Ah.. don't sue me, I just thought we needed a little humor. ^_^ My kids love this guy. Of course, they also love my real snakes too, they just watch them from outside the tank. ^_^

Yup, that's a hybrid. The problem is, if you breed that into Hondurans for example, even after many generations where the snakes look like pure Hondurans, they won't be pure. Then what happens to all of those purple ghost and snow Hondurans? Well, we can't release them into the wild to bolster wild populations, so you've ruined that plan.

I suggest you don't breed it. And don't take it to the beach. And feed it in a separate container so it miraculaously knows not to bite in the cage but knows its OK to bite in the separate container, somehow..

It will make a fine addition to any collection. And it looks better with every shed. And its possible het.

I'm having trouble getting it to feed...

And... its sheds are irregular...

And.... it doesn't seem very active... ^_^

:D I could *try* to breed it, but I think I might end up with a lot of fluff.

I don't recommend trying to breed any snakes...snakes do a better job of breeding each other
