I would get to the vet for a fecal right away, one of my dragons died, possibly from the fungus. Print the article to bring to the vet so he knows what he is looking for. You can start with a bath in warm water and with a toothbrush gently brush the yellow areas to see if it comes off as fecal matter would. Fungus doesn’t come off so quick. It is contagious so be careful, quarantine is best as a safety regardless. Externally the fungus does not pose an immanent threat, internally it can be fatal.

Good luck

and only after a time start to realize it is not, they shed and it comes right back, a fecal stain would not do that.

Although only a biopsy will tell you for sure what it is ( and you need a lab or vet experienced with identifying it)visual can steer you in a direction.... if you can get a good picture of the area and email me a history, I will let you know what I think.

History I want is how long its been there (dates)
Has he shed at all while it was there?
Has the animal been treated with ANY meds in the past 6 months?
Has he been on dirt or potting soil prior to noticing this?
Has he been in contact with another dragon that has been ill or died?
Do you have birds in your house?

in removing stains AND fungus. A local Vet should have it available in a small amount you can purchase, it comes in a shampoo and in a concentate (make sure you dilute this if it is this kind)

That should remove it or at least change the texture and cause the beardie to shed. The watch, if it come back it is most likely fungal and will need to be treated with a topical med.
