Hagen's started at 6 AM and has 8 out so far and think she will go 15. She's an almost 4 footer so maybe more?

She is still going and think she dropped 20 so far.

I feel like I missed a day of class. Trigons, venustus, kanberiensis, they all are live bearers, aren't they?
Took this photo late last night and she still had a few to go I believe. However I removed the big tight clutch this morning and it appears she had around 25. This is one of the few tree vipers that lay eggs and think the sumatran tree viper also lays eggs but not sure actually. What is nice is that she does not appear deflated today, and seems quite eager for a mouse despite she has not eaten anything in a few months. So it's off to get some food for her.

Fantastic Dan...congrats...

Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
Nice job Dan!
You are correct...Parias sumatranus are also egg layers.
In fact, all of the Parias are oviparous.
I have bred and hatched out Parias sumatranus as well as Parias hageni a few times now. They are certainly some of my favorite of the asian/indo-pacific arboreal pit vipers.
Parias mcgregori and P. flavomaculatus are also very nice.
Good luck with the eggs. I look forward to seeing some photos of your babies hatching before too long.
Take care.

These pit vipers are Parias.
There are several other species of egg laying pit vipers.
Aside from the two known species of New World pit vipers which lay eggs....another asian pit viper that lays eggs is Zhaoermia mangshanensis.
But I have to laugh....seems like the latin nomenclature always remains in a constant state of flux!
Nothing stays the same. LOL
Most of the species that have recently been pulled out Trimeresurus were long overdue for new designation.
