learned to not dust every time

chelonian71 Mar 13, 2008 02:12 PM

Since my little turtle seemed to have digestive problem related to too like vitamin D and I noticed that vitamin in is in the multi-vitamin/mineral, for a while I would dust with vits every time, every food bit.

Then I noticed my little turtle would not eat, and I had no idea why.....

But when I offered food just dusted with calcium, he/she ate some; and when I offered undusted food, he/she ate even more.

So I learned not to dust every time. Evidently a turtle can get too much of one or more nutrient than needed in powders, and has the ability to know how much is enough.
