Habitat Question: Screen Terrarium?

jackieann82 Mar 13, 2008 06:52 PM

Hi,
I am not yet a Gecko owner but I find them to be awesome creatures and hope to own some in the future. My question is do Geckos require a glass enclosure? Recently a friend of mine gave me one of those screen/mesh terrariums and I was just wondering if it could be modified and used for Geckos. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I suppose you could- of course an undertank heater would be out of the question, but if you can get the proper temps with lights, I dont see why not.

It would be near impossible to get the proper temps, the heat loss through natural convection would be tremendous. It'd be good for a crested or the like.
