Truck bed liner

zach_whitman Mar 14, 2008 12:46 AM

I know that there have been posts about this before, but the search function on these forums is a joke... so here goes.

I am looking for something to seal some wood cages. In the past I have used Kleer Coat, however is expensive and messy, and dried urates stick to it really well.

I don't know a thing about truck bed liner. Does it spray on? Paint on? is it easy to work with? Any brand or type better than the rest.

My main concern is ease of cleaning and avoiding urine smell building up in the wood. Any other suggestions aside from bed liner would be appreciated too.

I have seen two cages sprayed with Rhino liner but it was done professionally at the dealer. The cages are smooth and very tough and I gather easy to clean. But this is very expensive.

I would spend some time on ebay as I have found many DIY truck bed liners for sale there. I have never bought one and have no idea of their performance in a reptile cage.

Some go on smooth, some go on textured, some go on either way. There are both roll-on and spray-on products.

My best guess is that you should limit yourself to the two-part products as they should offer much great durability.
