Ctenosaura caresheet or book...

Ralph Mar 14, 2008 10:02 AM

Hello,

I have found the caresheet by Mark Malfatti on West Coast Iguana which is great but I was curious if you all knew of other sources of info on Ctenosaura (particularly Ct. pectinata). I have kept/bred snakes for years but I am relatively new to lizards. Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks
Rafael

The book "Schwarzleguane" of Gunther Köhler is a great book for people who keep Ctenosaura.
The only thing is that it's in the German language. Don't know if you read that? Else I haven't found any good and complete information about Ct. species exept from Mark.
So I'm wondering if anyone has some other suggestions.

There are no good english books on ctenosaura. The only one worth its salt is by Gunther Kohler and that is in german but may be translated in a few years. I am working on a book with a know reptile book publisher and that may be out later this year. As far as what your looking for, pectinata care would be no different from any other ctenosaura care. As far as basic care, they all seem to fit in the same shoe. Even bakeri, which occurs in wet humid mangrove swamps, seems to do extremely well in the semi arid California summer climate.
