I just added this one to my collection. I got him from Jeff Cochran. He was caught in Louisianna by Carsten Zoldy.

I have a pair of brooksi that look like that...is it because of the area it was captured at that makes it a speck?..I'm not trying to start anything..I just thought specks were more black & yellow.

Nice Ralph,
Zee does have the nack for finding nice stuff. Now you need to get a mate for it. It's kind of a bummer that Zee won't be able to make our Nc. trip this year. He won't be back from playing in the Big Sandbox until Aug. Hope to see you soon Ralph, and stay safe Zee!

Hey Phil, I was wondering where Zee has been. I didn't realize he had gone back over to "Peace in the middle east" (oxymoron) As Phil said above, stay safe and look forward to seeing you when you get back.

I'm from Louisiana and have caught numerous speckled kings since I was a wee lad. Out of curiosity, would you let us in on the locality? Mine were all from various Calcasieu Parish locales and most were patternless (no chain/band markings).

I live in Jefferson County, Tx (just across the Sabine river form Cameron Parish) and the specks here are much like that...little banding and bright yellow spots

Steve_Craig Mar 15, 2008 03:58 AM

Hey Steve, hey Ralph and an open invite to you other herpers who are in the vicinity of Va for St.Pattys. Festivities start at 11A.M. at Wild Wing Cafe in Chesapeake. The only parade of course will be to the bathroom from the beer. After a few hours of wings and liquid potables, onward to Kelly's in Va Beach for food and more of the "potables". We should all feel like snakes by the time we are through as we will all be in the bag.Begorrah!!By the way, nice speckled ya got there.

Patton Mar 15, 2008 03:00 PM

Go ahead, rub it in Howie! Man, I really wish I could make it.
I'll see you on the 29-30 though. Hopefully the weather will play nice. It's sad when the token Irishman can't make it to the St. Patty's Day bash! Save some of the Bushmill's for the 29th, don't drink the town dry, and say hi to everybody for me.
