CBW or Interstate permit ??

GLZ Mar 14, 2008 09:33 PM

Whats the normal permit being used for Indigo's and why? I would think CBW but from what I have been reading it looks like everyone is receiving interstate permits with great success

What does "CBW" stand for? Thanks.

Captive Bred Wildlife permit issued by USFWS, this permit allows buying/selling of ESA species between permit holders who are both registered for the same species.

I work mostly with crocodilians and the CBW permit is pretty common with regards to these types of animals .... the CBW is for NON Native species so animals such as the American Crocodile or Eastern Indigo snake couldnt be added

It would seem that the USFWS Interstate commerce permit with regards to the Eastern Indigo snake isnt that difficult to get, probably due to the Threatened status. I know getting a Interstate commerce permit for a endangered crocodilian is nearly impossible.
