looks like a spotted hybrid.... when i was younger i had a spotted turtle and when i was in high school my parents decided to put him in the pond on the back deck, here in va.... we originally had him in nc where he was saved from a tar pit...and then we moved here. anyways.... one day it rained a WHOLE LOT and the pond overflowed and my poor "Spot"(that was his name....) come on i was like 7 when i first got him!!! but he's out there wild somewhere probably Still in Woodlake... but hey, i tell you what if i ever find him. heck yes i will snatch him back up. he had a red side on his shell from biting on an electric cord one day when i let him out when i was lil and he ended up with a red mark on his shell from my stupid mistake. He ran away once when i was in 3rd grade but my neighbor down the block found him a week later...sorry for rambling jeff...

Great find, Jeff-I love spotties! Not the prettiest one ever hatched, though LOL.

I have a colony (1.7) that I moved from NY before they (and all other native herps) were put on the state "totally protected" list....

Yeah I know he isn"t exactly a showstopper but,in this area I'm exstatic to find him! They are extremely rare and protected.I'm gonna keep my eye on this site and hopefully post a pic of a baby later in the season. Jeff

Jeff,

I've been looking for those a couple times and have yet to find one - it looks like that turtle could use a few more spots!
