Getting into chameleons

iheartboid Mar 15, 2008 11:57 PM

I'm thinking of getting a chameleon and was wondering what are some good books out there. I went on amazon.com and found more than 10 books. When I got my boids (pythons and boas) I went crazy with the book buying and I'm trying to avoid that with chameleons. I just want 2-3 books. I bought over 10 books for my ball python and they all pretty much said the same thing. I would also like books that are more up to date. Thanks in advance, can't wait till I actually get one.

Most books about chams you'll see in pet shops or bookstores are outdated. There are a few exceptions. Books by Petr Necas are great but expensive. A cham keeping book by Linda Davidson is OK. A couple of earlier cham books have been revised and updated. Actually, a great website that offers good books is Kammerflage Kreations. Titles they list are trustworthy.

Thanks! I didn't one to end up doing the same thing with my snake book collection. I was actually thinking of just printing online care sheets, but by looking at the page count on most books I always feel that they are mentioning something that the care sheet isn't. I'm hoping to get my first chameleon by mid April so I want to get started reading on the info and stuff. Also by the way is April a good month to buy chameleons? Is the selection good or did I miss the '07 clutch sale. I've been looking at the sponsor sites and they seem to have sold out of the ones I like.

I just went to kammerflage kreation's website that's the website I've been trolling for the past week. Tsara-Mondoko is my favorite that I've seen so far.
