What will the babies look like?

donedeal Mar 16, 2008 06:59 AM

I'm new to breeding. I've got a male anery corn which i'm breeding to 3 females. One female is a blizzard, one female is a blood red, and the last is a miami phase. What will the babies of these three females look like?

All normals but het for each parents "morph" except for the miami. Miami's are just another variation of the normal look and there are no "het miami's". This is also assuming there are no hets that we do not know about in the parents that could match up.

Yes, I do not know the history of the parents. I either bought them on line or at a pet store so, I guess I will have to wait and see what pops out, but they are mating like crazy LOL! Thank You for the info!

Good luck with the breeding!! Hope you are ready for about 60 hatchlings!! Thank goodness for Rodent Pro because you are going to need a minnimum of 180-200 pinkies just to give them their first 3 meals before you sell them and if it takes longer to sell them.................?

Thanks! I even bought one of those incubators from big apple supply LOL! I've also got a bunch of western hogs for breeding as well. I'm getting all my mice from mice direct, which is working out good for me. I guess I took a bigger bite than I can chew LOL!

You will probably want to build some sort of a rack. You can house baby corns together with little risk, but it is much easier to keep track of who is eating if you keep them in individual shoebox containers.

Don't try to go lidless - I did with my first clutch of cal king eggs (bigger out of egg than corns) and quickly found out they could escape. Fortunately I found all that did.

You want lids on hatchling racks and you want the tubs to have slight resistance when pushing the tubs in and out of the rack.
