Suprising BRB feeding tactic...

phiff1 Mar 16, 2008 01:27 PM

Has anyone ever witnessed something like this?: When I fed my BRB a 2nd live rat (she has stopped accepting thawed once again!) she grabbed it by the tail with her jaws and pinned the rest of the rat's body to the ground. She then proceeded to suffocate the rat in timely fashion (I watched the whole episode to make sure she didn't get bitten). I cannot believe how strong she is! She killed this small rat easily even though she was only pressing on about 2 thirds of its body. Pretty impressive.

ive seen that if a snake doesnt get a good bite and a good wrap, they will squish a rat to the floor or against a wall

-- bearded dragon for the wifey my list got to big...

more distant future hopefuls
1 or 2 of each maybe a breeding pair?
--anery boa (ooooh)

I see similar responses out of most of my BRB's. Quite often the will pin the F/K rat to whatever is around without biting/striking at all.

and are geared such tactics. Most times we feed F/T and miss the really kewl part about feeding them. I myself have smiled more then once from a rats eyes and other body parts swelling and or bugging out from a good old fashioned strangle hold

LOL!!
