Found 2 alive, one dead last night. Heres the pic of the second one:

Well he started rattling right away and prepared to strike. The others we found just tried to get away, never rattled and never attemped to strike at us like this one. He wouldnt try to get away, I couldnt get my hands on him at all. I had to gently persuade him to get off of the road just moments before a car came speeding by.
That would have been considered defensive. Aggressive is when the snake actually makes threatening advances in your direction (i.e.-moving forward in order to make you retreat).
This phenomenon could be due to you being situated between itself and it's nearest place of retreat, or it could have been determined to stand it's ground.

Ok, the snake was very defensive. Most just tried to escape, didnt get defensive when handled.
