basic question

JeffK Mar 16, 2008 09:01 PM

i am looking to build a stand that holds about 6 10 gallon tanks. i would like to move one gecko into each tank. what i want to know is if a heating pad is okay to use instead of the spot light. and just set up a floursent just for visual light.

Long story short: is a heating pad good enought for heat.

UTHs (under tank heaters) are the best method to heat a tank for a leo. They need belly heat to properly digest their food. As long as the substrate temp. is between about 88-90 degrees on the hot side and mid 70's on the cool side you should should be just fine. Hope this helps.
