Coughing Snake?

Heat Mar 17, 2008 12:46 AM

I just witnessed very loud coughing, & when I flung open the top to investigate, he splatted out a bit of runny poop. Anyone heard of this before?

He is not a new snake. Acting completely fine otherwise. Has not eaten in a couple of weeks. Is on paper towels, so no stuck substrate.

prob farting, not coughing. Sounds funny, but it happens once in a while, especially when they have a runny poop. I've had it happen a few times, and there has never been any ill effects after, so I wouldn't worry. I'd just monitor its eating and pooping a little more closely for the next while.

yup--- sounds like a rear end- cough....

Our big burms fart a lot--- gives my husband a run for his money!!! lol

wouldn't worry about it-- so long as he is healthy otherwise---

When my pythons are in PIG mode, it is a regular flagitation fest, never mind the boas that are louder than all of them. ALL animals have "gas", some of my best photo's show manatee's releasing pressure. I kept kings and milks for years but never heard anything like a good boid blaster.... freaked me out at first, now I just join in on the symphony.
