a ghost with the most !

DMong Mar 17, 2008 09:49 AM

Here's a STUNNING ghost I photographed that's owned by a good friend of mine(Deon Collins). After coming over to his house after a reptile show, I took a few pics of some of his exceptional stuff.

enjoy!, ~Doug

This bloodred has "erythristic piebaldness" in several places, that left the remaining underlying pigments to remain visible.

Wow! That's amazing! Is it genetic? Are there breeding plans for that snake?

My friend Deon Collins(it's his)has bred it, and has offspring, but it won't be proved, or disproved for a while yet.

you should ask deon to be sure but i know the previous owner had bred it and i believe bred it back to its own offspring with no similiar babies. i believe its already been disprooved but i could be wrong.
ill ask him today.

You know Adam,.....now that you mentioned it, that DOES "ring a bell", I seem to recall him saying something like that a while back.

I don't think I've seen that trait before.
Interesting.
Why have you been keeping this guy under wraps?

It's not a morph that's in the hobby AT ALL,....it's more than likely the ONLY one like it.

Well, since it's not mine, I got permission to show the pic from my friend(Deon Collins) who actually owns it. He has offspring, but the trait still has to be "proved out" with another successive generation of breeding.

that ghost really is stunning.
I think you have showed this bloodred before. Such an interesting case. I'd like to remain posted on this snake. Has it ever had offspring, or any of it's siblings show this trait?

Misty,........yeah, that ghost is really "mind-blowing", Deon Collins(the owner) is really proud of that one, as I would be too.

The parodox has been breed, and he has neonates, but it needs another generation to see if the trait is genetically inherited.

That is an AWESOME mutation.......It seems as if the genetics couldn't figure out what they wanted to be.....Could this be caused by having so many resesive/co-dom hets?

gypsy1dragon Mar 17, 2008 09:36 PM

Beautiful Ghost! Is he from Kathy Love's line? I have a pair of her special project ghosts, my male is almost that pink. I am trying to breed them for the first time this year. I can't get his pink to show up on camera though, I'm not the best photographer I guess.

Thanks!,....

Im not sure if Deon's ghost is from her stock, or not, but yes, I'm familiar with Kathy's "special project" ghost line, and they are awesome indeed!

Good luck with yours too!
