My worst so far: VERY early in my python keeping I had a 5 foot P. curtus that was not able to 'nail' and coil a live large rat (before I started to feed F/T). It had the rat by the tail and the rat was dancing and jumping while the snake was trying to coil. Then, the snake started to coil and this rather large rat sunk it's teeth into the top of the snakes head. So......... I reach in bare handed, grab the rat in one hand and the snake in the other. BAD move... The rat promptly lets go and sinks BOTH sets of front teeth all the way into my thumb muscle near the palm I figure the teeth were between 3/8" and 1/2". The snake reels back and bites my other hand!!! Ugh... I drop the rat, punch it so hard ONCE that it dies immediately (no kidding) and proceed to bleed like a garden hose. The snake bite was not too bad, but the rat bite was not good at all. My entire thumb was double the size for at least a week, black and blue and pretty much useless. Good times.

Great story, Matt- I can see all that going down... rats are really nasty when they want to be, huh?

haha yeah that why i have decided to kill all my mice before i feed. and OUCH that seems like it was one dooozy of a bite!!!
My worst bite was when i was cleaning a full grown BRB cage and she has been known to be a sweet little angel. SO i just finished cleaning the cage pulled her out of the bin and started to put her back. When i went to get her neck to put into the cage she grabbed a hold of my index finger right on the base and webbing and just bit hard! When she let go i put her back and locked the cage, pulled off my latex glove and blood was just sliding down my arm and finger, she even gave me a bruise.
One bite comes to mind. I just got finished feeding my female tiger retic an 8lb rabbit. She was about 14' and 50lbs at the time.
Careless I didn't close the cage entirely as I figured it would take her at least 10 minutes to finish the rabbit. When I came back to her cage about 5 minutes later she not only finished her dinner but was coiled up on my floor waiting for me.
I wanted to get her back in the cage and didn’t' think about the fact she is still in feeding mode. I bent over and picked her up with no problem. As I was about to put her back in the cage she started doing the "head shakes” which she does when she is ready to strike, and she got me with a large portion of her teeth right on the hand. Thankfully I didn't need stitches, but I had more then 40 teeth marks both over and under my hand with a lot of bruising and swelling. It really hurt, very painful from such a large python. (I was super happy she let go)
The next day my wife was in the snake room and I heard her scream. She stepped on something that pierced right into her foot. She pulled out a 3/4" snake tooth out of her heal. I still have the tooth to this day and it is super large.
I was super pleased that she was ok and that I didn't have to go to the ER room
Thank you,
Eric
Many years ago, a 6' yellow Anaconda caught me on the index finger as I was trying to pick it up by the head. It was a wild caught animal. One tooth stayed in my finger for 2 years, and everytime I used that finger on my right hand, I was reminded of it.

Matt...
Great story and a good reminder why f/t is best.
My worst bite was when a few hundred no-see-um's bit my legs and the bites all began to swell at once.
Certainly not painfull, but itchy as hell.

I have to take eggs from a Retic that is about 16 ft later tonight. I'll let you know if I have my worst bite.
See above post about the BIG day, there is a picture of the girl.
