Breeding

donandsallyszoo Mar 18, 2008 02:57 AM

Hello,

I'm sure husbandry/feeding has something to do with it, but in general what is the earliest breeding age for males? We're getting a 4.5 month old in the next day and I wandering if he'll be ready for our girls this year? The current owner says he's starting to head bob.

I have a 6 month old that was successful with one of my older females this year. He's big though, 22" and 525 grams when he bred her.

Wow!! you had a 6 month old at 22 inches!! that is big!! I have a about 5.5 month old right now in my crew, he doesn't know what to do it's so funny he bobs and grabs her neck and then just sits there beside her! I love seeing them do this before they figure it out its soo funny!!
