NEW IGUANA NEED ADVICE

HI EVERYONE ,I JUST RESCUED A 12 YEAR OLD IGUANA FROM A PET STORE I SAY RESCUED BECAUSE HE WAS IN A SMALL CAGE ON DISPLAY.HE SEEMS FRIENDLY HE WILL LET YOU LOVE ON THE SIDE OF HIS FACE.I WAS WONDERING IF I SHOULD LEAVE HIM ALONE FOR A WHILE OR IFI SHOULD GO IN AND TOUCH HIM WHEN I WANT TO .I ALSO HAVE 4 BOYS THE OLDER TWO WANT TO LOVE ON HIM ANY ADIVE?HE ALSO WONT COME DOWN OFF HIS PERCH HE JUST SITS THERE HE IS EATIG WELL BUT NONE OF THE WATER IS GONE FROM HIS WATER BOWL!

he sounds friendly but im sure hes really scared.. i would just feed him and give him his water ...
he needs to get use to his new enviroment.

he might be on his pearch becuase hes basking.. to collect heat

umm and for greens you said hes not drinking water .
when im feeding my iguana i give her greens and i mist them with water so i know shes getting water.
you may also not see them drink water
make sure your giving them the proper calcuim and citamins and Uvb light and heating as well

THANKS I WENT IN TONIGHT TO FEED HIM A SNACK AND HE WAS SO EXCITED HE CRAWLED DOWN OFF HIS PERCH AND CAME OVER TO MY LAPWHILE I HAND FEED HIM! THEN UP MY CHEST LICKED ME A FEW TIMES ON MY CHEST AND FACE .HE CONTINUED TO CLIMB TO MY SHOULDER.HE STAYED FOR A SHORT WHILE THEN HE CRAWLED BACK TO HIS PERCH.YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT CALCIUM POWDER ,right?

yes , its called repcal with D3 ...

thats cool just make sure he wants to go on your lap and your not forcing him or her
try not to hand feed him .. make sure he eats the food your giving him in his cage.
