Male burm cloaca problem....

OKC_Exotics Mar 18, 2008 05:29 PM

I came home from work today to find my 3 year old male burm laying there with his tail in the air and this protrusion coming out of it. He has been breeding the past 2 weeks, but this isn't his hemipenes. Any idea what this is, what causes it and what I need to do?? Can't figure out how to copy pics onto the post, so here is a link to them on my myspace page. Thanks.

Just let him rest. Keep an eye on him. It should retract on it's own with in a day.

Thanks, is it from over-exertion from the breeding?

Yes it appears to be associated with heavy breeding. Once it retracts the snake will go back to breeding , business as usual .
