Smallest male breeder

CFlowers Mar 19, 2008 01:18 AM

As we all know most Thayeri breeders grow their animals up SLoooow. Taking upwards of 4 yrs before any breeding attempts. But I wonder... What was the smallest male you you know to have bred successfully? To be more specific how much did he weight in grams?

160 grams post-brumation weight for two of my males that bred successfully. Both were 2 1/2 years of age at the time. I've heard that people do breed thayeri males as young as 1 1/2 years, but I'm sure they had to be voracious eaters that had quite a bit of size on them.

2 y/o and less than 200 grams

you don't really need 4 years for a male and honestly three is more than enough for a female. Mother nature will tell you if a snake is ready.

last year I had a male breed at 70 grams and I ended up with 13 good eggs that all hatched. These are a few from the clutch.
