red spot on cali

squidgyfish Mar 19, 2008 09:05 AM

I have a young albino striped cali that I got last September, and I noticed when I got her she had a red spot on her vent scale. I thought it was under the scale or something and assumed it would shed out, but 6 months and 5 sheds later it's still there. It doesn't feel or look raised or abnormal like a wound and isn't bothering her, but I didn't think calis had red on them :S Is this normal?

I have found something similar on my anery cornsnake which is odd as well

Obviously that Cal king has anery corn mixed in..

Just kidding. Very cool. If you find a mate for it with a red spot, breed them. Red-spotted albino Cal kings, $200. They get better with every shed. A great addition to any collection.
