Another response from MO Congresslady

natsamjosh Mar 19, 2008 12:11 PM

Again, it probably means nothing, but just thought I'd share this
with the forum. I'll give this Rep. some credit, the other two bill sponsors didn't respond at all. (Start from bottom for initial message.)

I'm starting to think the Animal Rights extremists might be going
too far for their own good (ie, ridiculous 100 year global warming maps, trying to ban anything with scales or feathers, etc.), which is good for us.

Thanks,
Ed

In order for a bill to progress, it must be assigned to a committee and have a hearing held. The sponsor of the legislation has not requested the bill to be assigned to committee.

Thank you for your prompt response. But if there are errors in the legislation, why would it even have a chance at passing? Why isn't it being repealed or rescinded (or whatever the term is for cancelling a bill?)

Thank you,
Ed

Dear Edward,

Representative Sara Lampe is aware of the errors in this legislation and does not expect it to progress through the legislative process.

The author of the bill knows it is doomed to fail as currently written. That is why it has not progressed.

She has not ruled out revising it though and resubmitting it.
