So I caved and bought another striped amel. The pet store I usually buy my mice from has a few snakes in so I decided to take a look. The little amels that they had in were still there, after 4 months, along with a few rootbeers, and sunglows. The little amels were VERY tiny. The store owner had told me that the breeder who gave them to him, not sold, only had fed them enough so they stayed alive, so he wouldn't be spending as much on feeders.
I asked to see them, and the owners told me that one of them, the little male, was refusing to eat, and would try a pinky pump if the other attempts didn't work. Unfortunatly, the little guy didn't make it, I found out a few days later. However, I fell in love with my new little girl, and brought her home. She had a few sheds stuck on her tail that refused to come off. (However, she shed today, and they came off with a little help from soaking. it looks like the tip may fall off, sadly) Compared to her former cage-mate, she's strong and a very good eater, despite being much smaller than what she should be.
I'm happy
In the picture is her when I bought her, pre-shed. She just shed today and looks gorgeous. When I locate my USB cord, I'll post a picture
