Iguana Cage

adeliagrey Mar 19, 2008 07:43 PM

I've had my iguana for a little over three years now and aside from when he was a baby, he's been free roam. I just moved into a studio and I'm trying to find a cage to keep him in so he doesn't destroy all of my things while I'm at work. It's proving to be more difficult than I thought it would be. Most of the ones I've found are either not big enough, a million dollars, or they're made out of material that won't hold in heat. I just need something big enough for him that he'll be comfortable in while I'm at work and that won't cost me a fortune. I don't have the means or the skills to build my own. Any suggestions as to where to find a decent cage?

Try this link for some ideas. I have a feeling they may be too expensive, though.

It's really not too hard to build a cage or find someone to help you. You just need some 2x2's from a Home Depot or Lowe's, wire mesh (not chicken wire), and flat wood for the back and floor. A little sealant for the wood makes a difference, too.

Building is actually pretty easy. when we first got our little girl we went to garage sales and found an old wardrobe, we cut windows into the doors, drilled a few holes for lamps and shelves, and tada GREAT cage. And it only costed us about 150 all said and done
