irregular cluches

This is my first year breeding. I have 18 beardies, 2 of my females have laid partial clutches 7 eggs from one, 8 from the other. They are doing fine, have veins and embryo. BUT.... the females still have eggs visible in them and did after they buried. Its been 2 weeks for one and 3 for the other since they laid.
general info: basking 104-106, cool side 83-85 (luv my tempgun!)
florescent zoo-med 10.0 UV lights (sept 07), feed dusted collard, mustard, turnip greens daily, dusted crix every other day. Soaked in warm water every third day. I am using a rubbermaid tote with a clamp light for heat, for a laybox with organic topsoil.
If it was one, I would think quirky dragon, but with the two I have to think quirky keeper!!! What am I missing? Sorry such a long post but tried to supply as much info as possible.
Thanks in advance for your time!

Wanted to add, they have both come off there feed a bit. Not totally, but have definatly slowed down and are looking a little thin. Thanks!

Read "only two eggs" on page 4 sounds similar, but was no end result. I guess I'll just keep putting them in the lay box and hope. thanx

Is this the first season they laid eggs?

It seems sometimes they are confused the first year. Tough for me to guess if they laid a partial clutch (doubtful) or just a small clutch. I would make sure that when they are using the nest box you don't disturb them. Your curiosity can sometimes cause them to stop laying prematurely. Keep in mind that in nature when they are in a hole they are very vunerable.

I've had 2 small clutches followed by a bigger clutch before and have wondered myself if they may be partial clutchs. It's just hard to say. I think as long as they are active (or semi active) and don't appear sick I'd just put them back in the nest box regularly.

There is always an outside chance that an egg may be too big or the whong shape for the dragon to pass. Thankfully this is very rare but you should keep it in mind. In this case you would need a good reptile vet.

For pet owners and hobby breeders it's really helpful to keep a log. It will really help you make decisions less stressful when you can look back on what happened in years past.

I bought her about a year ago, so she was not bred last year. She was born in early 2004 I think, and has been bred and layed previously. I contacted the previous owner and he said there were no previous laying problems, they both produced multiple cluthes of 15 eggs. Thanks again for your time.
