Post ovulation?

sadisticmuffin Mar 20, 2008 12:49 PM

I just got a pair of ball pythons. Male and female adults. The female was in shed when I got her, Post ovulation shed I assume. I saw last night she looked like she was about to shed so I took the male and introduced them together. Sure enough I woke up this morning and she had shedded, used the bathroom in her water dish, and they was locked up. Am I right to assume that was a post ovulation shed and she may become gravid now?

Ovulation is the beginning of a female being gravid...and if they are still breeding then she probably has not ovulated yet.

If she goes off feed then it is a good time to start to watch for ovulation...If you miss that then you can always watch for behavior changes.Like seeking the hot side instead of the cool side...and coiling in a spiral,(,unlike you have seen her do before.)...Just watch her,and see how she is acting from day to day.
