first, spelling is a good thing to learn... I mean nobody's perfect, but at least try...
second, I've heard that humid hides aren't VITAL to a leo's survival, but they ARE a great thing to have around. yes, your leo did not have trouble shedding THIS time, but next time, who knows? it's just a good thing to have. Plus, there's not really a cost issue seeing as the humid hides are pretty much just a margerine or cool whip tub that sell for around 2-4 bucks. If you're worried about the overall asthetic of the cage, then they have some "designer" tubs out there for the summer, with neat patterns and designs on them. I have a parkey tub with a cool southwestern design on it for my male, and a saffola tub with little hearts all over it for my female. they both spend a LOT of time in the humid hides no matter if they're shedding or not. it's just a nice place to hide on the warm side of the tank.
hope this helps. and I didn't mean to offend you about the spelling... but if nobody ever says anyhting about it, how will it ever get better?

Yuo dont have to use them but i believe it is better to use them. The reason I say this is by using a humid hide it makes it easier for the leos to shed and less stressful for them. Also it always them another place to hide and fill comfortable in. I use one of those square tall crayola box. I bought it at Savemart for $.99 and they all love them. It is big and tall enough for 2 leos and when I put 3 of them together I think I am going to make a 2 story one. I'll let you guys know how they will come out.

You should provide one for your leo anyway. You have to remember that with keeping captive species, offering only the bare necessities is not providing the most optimal setting for your pet.
I keep two leos in a 20L tank. They've got three hides AND two humid hides. Do they need all that stuff? No, probably not. But do they use everything? You bet! I believe in offering more than the absolute minimum, because it gives them a little more freedom in a limited environment.
