So, how many tubs will I need?????

rainbowsrus Mar 21, 2008 12:15 PM

I'm thinking lotsa lotsa!!!!

Took pics of all my gravid and possibly gravid girls last night. Listed in due date order....

This is Candy a Pastel CBLT bred to my stunning 2005 Summit Salmon Reeses. She looks like she will be my first to produce. Currently at POS + 85, she's so lumpy you can almost count the babies!!

This is Tootsie, Anery het Snow bred to York, Albino het snow. Not 100% sure on her (missed ovulation) but if I got the POS right, she's at POS + 80

This is Ruby and Jasmine (Ruby toward the right and back with Jasmine in the corner) Ruby is Coral albino bred to my Motley Boys and currently at POS + 59. Jasmine is Albino Arabesque also bred to my Motley boys and just had her POS so is only POS + 5 - will most likely be my last litter of the season.

Next is Spirit, a possible Super Ghost, bred to Boo, also a possible Super Ghost. Sadly Boo bred himself to death. Little guy would not stop, would not eat and passed away right after Spirit ovulated. Spirit is at POS + 54. Looks like Boo did his job.

This is Taffy, a DH sunglow bred by Dagwood, Albino pos het stripe. She's at POS + 35

Crystal, DH snow bred by Fireball TH Snowglow. At POS + 27.

Vanilla pos Super Ghost bred by my Motley boys, she's at POS + 15

Th next three girls are all illiterate and never read the breeding handbook. Each has had some signs of being gravid but not clear and/or conflicting dates. Maybe gravid, maybe not - time will tell!!

Sierra, Albino pos het Snow bred by Toffee, Anery pos het Snow.

Cinnamon, Salmon pos Super bred by Pepper, aby line male.

Coral, Coral albino bred by Reeses, my outstanding 2005 Summit Salmon.

One more - Amber Super Salmon pos Jungle, really not sure at all on her and still with two males but not much breeding activity and didn't get a pic of her.

Thanks, I'm pretty excited to see how they all do!!!!

Yeah, did suck about the male Ghost. Although I already had a backup male ghost raising up so there will not be any gap in the breeding groups next year.

Dave:

Great job with all of those gravid BCIs.

What's mind boggling to me is that you are not even accounting for all of those baby Brazilians you're bound to have.

Keep up the great work bud.

Thanks Brian....

I'm accounting for them, just figuring I'll need to sell some of my baby BCI to make room for the baby BRB's. One really cool thing about the two groups is the birthing season is offset by 2 - 4 months. Plenty of time to have sold off some.

That and my new snake room will give me lots more space to set up and use all the racks and cages I've accumulated and been storing.

Quick count, I have up to 460 individual enclosures between all my cages and racks. Phew!!!

Hey Dave,

All your girls are lookin' good!! You know I'm pullin' especially for Vanilla. She looks great. After seeing that pastel CBLT and seeing past pics of Reeses, I just might have to add one of those kids to my "wish list."

Good luck with everyone. And I feel overwhelmed when I have around 100+ baby boas Looks like you're in for a hectic, fun-filled baby boa season in the next few months.

All the best,

Jay

rainbowsrus Mar 21, 2008 09:29 PM

Thanks Jay, I go back and forth between oh so cool and what have I gotten myself into. I know it'll be a fun (and sometimes crazy) ride!!! Right now I'm busting butt on my new second snake room, it'll be for my larger boa breeders and moving them in there will free up a lot of spoace for all the baby racks I've accumulated getting ready for this season and all the ones to follow!!! Exciting times for me, talk about a dream coming true!!!!

There should be lotsa wowzer animals being born here. Many of my current pairings are to produce specific genentics in breeder animals for my future projects. Planning on keeping several for myself but in the process will be producing lots more for others to share in!!!! This is my year of the female, most of my holdbacks are planned to be females since the corresponding males for each project can be produced next year.

In addition to all these BCI projects, I have even more BRB pairings going on right now with at least a half dozen already gravid and swollen up, no POS's yet with the BRB's, they are at least a couple of months behind the BCI's.

I don't know the size of any of those females, but I am guessing you will need 237 shoe boxes for those babies!
