Homo for 5 traits.............

wisema2297 Mar 21, 2008 03:54 PM

I am breeding my hypo stripe siblings to each other this year. They are both het for amel, anery and lavender. I just did the math and could possibly end up with a striped snopal that has the hypo masked.........stripe, anery, amel, hypo and lav all expressed in the same snake!!! Anyone else have this happen before.

I can also possibly have more hypo stripes, amel stripes, ghost stripes, snow stripes, hypo lav stripes and opal stripes.

Here's hoping that at least this pair gets the job done!!

punnet.c is what I use.

It does NOT handle codom calculations - only dominant/recessive.

It's a c file so you have to compile it on your system.
It compiles with gcc in Linux just fine so it should compile with gcc in OS X

gcc -o punnet punnet.c

Produces several output options - including LaTeX.

Here's the html output for the mentioned pairing:

homepage.mac.com/mpeters/misc/5morph.html

Upper case letter indicates dominant (WT) and lower case letter indicates recessive (morph)

1 in 64 offspring will be a 5 morph
9 in 64 will be quad morph (3 * 3 different possibilities)
27 in 64 will be tripple morph (9 * 3 different possibilities)
27 in 64 will be double morph (like the parents)
