Spring babies 2008

Tracy Barker Mar 22, 2008 04:53 AM

Since we just had the first day of spring and the hummingbirds are back and its Easter Sunday tomorrow, I thought I would post our first babies of the year. These were born this week and are some orange tail hypos and normals that are het for VPI caramel albino and anery, so "triple" and "double" hets that should make a lot of interesting snakes in the future!

Very nice babies and what an interesting gene combination.

As soon as they shed I will put some pics up. The triple het orangetails look very clean and the normal double hets have given me the answer to my question: Is the pattern on my breeder male caramel albino "widow peak" dominant? Last year he sired some babies with his same pattern-this was my second try with him on a different female, and a number of the normal dh babies have awesome "widow peak" patterns! They are not seen on the orangetail babies-and that is another story. Here is a pic of one of his babies from last year, a VPI caramel albino with the widow peak pattern. A friend of mine interested in geology saw her and said she reminded him of "crazy lace agate."
