Hey all,

Had to post an updated pic of Tijolo. Isn't he getting so very pretty?

My main question is that lately Tijolo has started peeing and then projectile pooping on my husband or I when we handle him. I know that it is a defense mechanism for monitors I guess it works for Tegus too? I have been trying not to put him away right after he does it so that we don't encourage the behavior. Has anyone else had this issue? What are some ideas to break him of this. The bigger he gets the bigger his poo canon is going to get!

You could try putting him in a tub of warm water before handling him. That may stimulate the little one to go in there rather than on your shoulder? Once they "shoot" they are usually good for a while or until they eat again. Isn't that just the nastiest? Best of luck!
