Love my new Kingsnake!

HRberry44 Mar 22, 2008 12:12 PM

Hey everyone, pretty new to the forums here. Just recently got a California Kingsnake, about 3 foot long. Not sure male or female. Always had pythons and things like that. I am absolutely in love with the King. Such a calm and the tamest thing I've ever seen, but wow is it fun to see eat, just a voracious hunter. Great snake, just wanted to say hi!

Congrats on your new snake! The Cal king was my first snake, and I can honestly say that I'm hooked.

Have fun with your snake!

PS. Can you post some pics?

Welcome. You're right. They are great snakes. I bred rosies and corns and a pair of macklott's pythons but I haven't enjoyed any snakes more than the kings. Can almost guarantee you're hooked. LOL.

Ok trying a picture. It's with my cell phone right now so it's bad, just trying to figure this all out. Thanks for all the help. I'm sure there will be more questions in the future!

Beautiful pattern on that King. I've always loved kingsnakes and much prefer them to pythons.. I'm just not fond of the cello-shaped heads. :P

^_^

Kingsnakes are so pretty! :D

Yeah, you're hooked. I find the amazing variety in coloration of Lampropeltis fascinating. Kings(and milks) are king.

I couldn't agree more now. I just love his personality. He seems to be active a lot, and almost like to be held if that sounds possible. Now my carpet python, it'll try to tag you every chance it can lol. But I love her too!

ScarFace0909 Mar 23, 2008 11:10 PM

true that. you love the carpet cuz it is a herp, but its been said that there is none nastier than a cp not wanting to be disturbed... maybe a retic, but that's a different story. that's wht lampropeltis is king
