New HERP Room...

Bighurt Mar 23, 2008 08:04 PM

Just wanted to share what I have been doing the last week.

When I started it was a semi unfinished basement, with painted concrete walls. The rest of the basement has yet to be finished but at least I've started.

The room will share my 2 hobbies for now, Reptiles and LEGO's...

...now if I could just get that cart....

Happy Easter!

Jeremy

lol, a lego collector huh. I had a pretty big assortment of sets a few years back but my oldest midget lost about half of it. I need to try to get pictures of my brothers lego sets. He has an entire room set up with Knights and castles, can barely walk into it.

Yeah I have about 300K in my own personel collection. It wouldn't fit in the room at all. However I run a small LEGO based buisness out of my home so the Room will basically be used for my Office.

Although I will probably have a big table set up for building my own creations.

Cheers

That makes it about 10 times cooler. I'd never heard of someone operating a business revolving around legos, that would have been one of my dream jobs when I was younger.

When I was a kid, in the early-mid 80's I used to have a chest of drawers, like you'd normally keep clothes in, and each drawer was filled with a different color of Legos. Each drawer was about 3/4 full of each color.
I felt like I was the Lego KING back then! Now....most of it's been just sold by my parents at garage sales and stuff.
I was fortunate enough to be a military brat and got to go to LegoLand in the Netherlands when we lived in Europe. I vaguely remember it, but it sure was cool!
Great looking start to a Snalego room!

Good job, Jeremy!

However, I must say, if that's Trevor in the 2nd pic, that's your best work, by far. What a cutie!

A lil' bit of advice: Complete the room by installing trim & baseboards, etc, before you put a single thing in there or else it won't get done. Haha! Don't ask me how I know. Personal experience, plus, I see it day-in & day-out in customers' homes.

Lookin' good!

Catch ya later!

Besides I'm waiting on some New cages.

Thanks, hopefully his brother gets the same genetics....

My reptile room that I've been working on here & there for quite awhile now is slammed full of construction materials, cages, animals, you name it. And I'm about to put a homemade incubator (old fridge) in there ontop of all that.

I don't even have any room to work in it, I have to set half of the stuff outside to get anything done. I'll be glad once it warms up and quits raining so much so I can work outside & leave some stuff outside, but we need the rain.

Ahh, it'll all work out, though. Sooner or later.

Keep up the good work! Looking forward to seeing the newest human addition.

Later Tater!

Nice work. Much better drywall finishing that in my room.

What kind of floor is that?

Currently keeping a small collection of various Gonyosoma. Both G. janseni and G. oxycephala.

I wish I had gone with laminate in my snake room. I still may do that, in fact I just emailed Happy Hillbilly to get his advice.

BTW, I did resign last week and decided not to try to stay on part time. I am keeping my yahoo account for now as I'm not getting overwhelmed with work related emails and plan to help the team out however I can until they get things back in order.

Yeah them Appalachian American's gotta be good for something....righ Mike! LOL

I went with the laminent more for resale value than Herp room. Also the installation is a breeze.

I priced out a few Menards had on hand and the "Newport" line, from Tarkett (supposably one of the better brands) comes with the sound prelayment attached to the panels. That alone saved $60 on not having to buy a prelayment seperately.

Anyways that trim won't install itself....

For more idle chit chat feel free to PM my when you get a chance, I could only wish to be a stay at home Dad!!!!

Cheers
