I have been away from the forum for a bit, but when I logged on this morning, I was very saddened to read Johns post about Rob. I first met Rob at the Desert Hills back in the early 90's when he had long hair and was just visiting from New Jersey. I would see him at the Austin Reptile EXPOS as well back in the day, then he finally he ended up moving to Texas. Over these years I really enjoyed talking to him and watching how aninmated he would get. He made me laugh. I would also run into him frequently in the field. I can tell you two things that really stand out from my memory of Rob. He was always polite, courteous, and very nice to my family, especially Caleb. He also backed me up and stood up for me for some things that were said from a certain individual that is all about slandering people and always threatening people overall.
I know from Rob himself that he had much tragedy in his life, some which I hate to even comprehend. He had a lot of demons haunting him, and with all these terrible things that had gone on in his life, he was always a great person to talk to and overall I felt he was a great guy. I think the last time I saw Rob was at our ETHS EXPO in Houston three or so years ago. You never know when it is the last time you are going to see someone, so when you do, never take that person for granted.
Rob, I am going to miss you buddy and I will think of you often when out West. Rest in peace buddy.
