if you got all normals than the blood is not het for amel and one of the two is not het for motley.
I dont have any sulfer yet but will have hets hatching out this year

Although he should have had more than just normals, the statements you made are not entirely true. It depends on the luck of the draw.
I have bred a pair of snakes together two years in a row. One year, I did not get something that I got the second. Thats the thing about Hets. They are not always contributed.
Pairing: bloodred het amel het motley x butter het motley
According to the Progeny predictor, there is a 40% chance to get normals het for the various traits, with the pairing that was listed.
Depending on the size of the clutch, it is possible that all normals hatched out.
I never disprove a trait on animals that are het by breeding them to another het. You need to breed those animals to ones that are homo for the other one's Het.
Like the blood het amel, het motley to an amel or an amel motley. Or the butter het motley to a motley. That in my mind is the only way to disprove a het.
I hope this helps

I agree, and the odds will increase you'll get a homo for any given trait the LARGER the clutch is, but as you mentioned, theoretical numbers don't always coincide with actual outcome.
the homo het, bred to a het homo, is always a good way to go.

You said to breed the blood het amel het motley to an amel or an amel motley.
You do know a butter is homo amel don't you?
sorry just had to point that out......LOL
The results rarely match the supposed "odds" but to breed a blood het amel het motley to a butter het motley and only get normals is pretty rough...Sounds like my luck...lol

ok, but I was trying to make a point! lol.
I was just trying to explain that it is possible to get normals out of that pairing.

That really sucks for him. Basically a het amel to a homo amel and no amel babies......buy a lottery ticket.
This site has a pic of a hatchling and an adult:
