Glue trap

reed_kamsler Mar 24, 2008 03:20 PM

Are any mouse/rat glue traps fine for catching snakes or is there one type in particular?

The really sticky ones. Once you have used one you will know what I mean...

Use the flat cardboard ones. They come in packs of four and are usually the cheapest ones. Walmart carries them. I don't have access to the brand name right now. The other type that you do not want are plastic and have a raised lip around the edge that prevents your snake from crawling over it.
Place them along walls wherever there is a chance the escapee might cruise. next to openings and refrigerators, shelves, etc. that it may hide under/behind.
I have trapped two foot plus hondos in these. they pulled them around till the glue board got stuck in a tight spot and there they waited for me. Use vegetable oil/olive oil to work it loose once you catch it. just pour the oil on and slowly work it under the snake with your finger tips. Take your time and it will be loose in a couple minutes.
Good Luck
