Searching for rattlesnakes has again brought me to this pretty little guy...he is a Great Basin Gopher Snake (Pituophis cantenifer deserticola). He is one of the cleanest and prettiest wild caught animals I have ever seen! Not a rattlesnake but a great catch none-the-less! Trying to photo a fast mover like this was tough so I apoligize for some of the pics!
I've been working in the vicinity of Desert Hot Springs for the past few days. Here's my list: 2 Sidewinders (lots of tracks and dishes), 1 Coachwhip, tons of Desert Iguanas, Zebratails, Whiptails, Sideblotches, and Leopard Lizards. Also, tracks from Shovelnoses and probable Glossys. And one shedded Kingsnake skin.
