Return of the King

reako45 Mar 24, 2008 06:42 PM

This is my little WC male Cal King from Chatsworth. This little local boy was missing from 1-14-08 to 3-20-08 when I found him cruising up on our kitchen counter @ 10:30 pm amongst the cloves of garlic.

This still gives me hope... Congrats on finding your beautiful lost King. I'm just really hoping I can still find my pretty girl.

They tend to show up at the strangest times. My fluerecent orange corn decided to hang out near a vacuum cleaner at the university lab school where I teach. I received a hysterical phone call at 4:30am when the custodian, thinking he was an extension cord, reached down to plug him in!

rgds,

I'm about at the point that if I do ever find her again, I'm implanting a bell in her tail. :P Just kidding, of course, but a GPS microchip would've been awesome. >_

Thanx for the comments everybody.
-Ross, I was hoping to get a clearer pic of him up for you so you could see what the Kings in the little patch of land where I've found them look like. Going out again Wednesday morning and hoping to see one or two.

I'm glad you did, that's a better picture. He looks a lot like the kings you would see in the Palmdale area. I expected more of a coastal look from your area, but I was wrong. Just last year some guy named Coils posted a question on the field herping forum here on KS. He asked what the kings looked like around Soledad Canyon. I had no idea what to tell him, but I'm pretty sure now they don't look coastal at all. Talk to you later

Have you ever herped Soledad Cyn? We drive past it all the time on the way road cruising out in the Palmdale/Lancaster area.

No, I never have but I hear there are Rosy boas out there. JE found a real nice one there a couple of years ago. I think he said it took him like 10 trips before he found one. That's supposed to be the farthest west you'll find them in the San Gabes. I just wonder if boas can be found on the northern foothills of the San Gabes. Have you ever road cruised the Devils punch bowl area?

Never been out there. Where exactly is Devil's Punchbowl? Is it out by or past Lake LA or Hi Vista.

Its right up against the northern side of the San Gabes near the bottom where the desert is. Easy to find on the map.
