I've got an ultramel from Carol H. last season to prove whether it was an ultramel or just ultra.
Obviously it proved out to be an ultramel.
For some reason I thought I wanted to keep it???
I didn't even brumate it with all the others. Just didn't really have anything I wanted to pair it with.
So now I have an ultramel just hanging around for no reason....lol

Humm.. Is that from her intentional cross to see if she could replicate the ultramel genetics? Or did it come from another source..

Yep, it is the intentional cross and it did indeed replicate the genetics

I'm not either really interested in any of them but it's kind of funny to me.
I did breed it to the cream. When it arrived here we were not sure if it was an ultramel.
That's what I was saying before. It proved out to be ultramel.
The babies were amels and ultramels. I bred to an unrelated cream from my own lines, no contact to any ultras or ultramels EVER.
so an ultramel was created from a corn/grey rat cross without either having ultra ancestry and people still want to look the other way.
But that's ok..people will believe what they want to believe

>>>> I read my above post and it sounds kind of like I am coming down on you for working with ultras.
I don't mean to be.
I don't have a problem with anyone working with any morph they desire.
I just get a little bothered by some people that bash all hybrids and/or intergrades but aren't willing to admit there MAY be a chance of some grey rat in the founding stock of ultras.

Oh hey, quite the contrary Jimmy.. I won't do many of the hybirds myself, I am not 100% convinced that all of the ultramels are hybirds eithier.. I realize my opinion is quite contrary to the typical public opinion, and at some point people eithier think I am crazy or in denial.. If it means anything, I am probably closer to being loco rather than in denial..

Simple fact is, there are very few corns that are anyone can convince are straight and pure corns period, and most people would be so disappointed to know the amount of emoryi blood that is floating around in their corn stock.. However, it is my intention to let folks know what I know about the animals I may produce..

BTW, your striped cream is da bomb Bro..

You happen to have any pictures of the Ultramel kids that came from the cream crossing? Might give me an idea of what to expect..
