That's a great looking Woma!

Mine (which came from captnemo--good breeder and great guy!) has been the best snake I've ever owned. He eats EVERY time he's presented with food, and within minutes the meal is gone. F/T has never been an issue. If mine is like the rest, Womas are inquisitive and docile. Sort of like the Aussie version of a big corn snake. What's not to love?! Makes my ball python seem like way too much fuss.

Enjoy your new Woma. I sure like mine!

Thanks for the complement! I would say, though, that one of the best traits of Womas is their individuality. Some are sweet like candy and then there's one of my girls who thinks she's a a jumping viper Either way, they're among my favorites!

You have a jumping viper Woma too? I thought I was the only one. She will go after anything including a digital camera. I had to use a disposable to get the pic.

That's great! Mine acts more like a saw scaled jumping viper hybrid to be honest! Great picture....definitely captures the demeanor accurately. Ironically, she only eats when I leave the f/t prey in her enclosure undisturbed....all the others take right off the tongs!

Sometimes she will even bite and wrap me if I am cleaning her cage. People always had a hard time believing it and would accuse me of not feeding her enough but she eats a large rat every week. No, the fact is that some Womas are indeed aggressive.

I know what you guys mean but from what I have experienced its not really aggression! It's more of a feeding response or just thinking everything that they touch is a food item. If they wrap on you its a feeding response not an aggression response. I have had a few like that over the years but once they are out and know they are not getting fed they normally calm down and stop trying to wrap and eat. Also once they are adults they calm down. When I think of aggression in a snake I think of striking at the glass, biting and trying to get away. That is not normally what Womas are known to do, although there are always exceptions to the rule! Just my $.02 Tom

haha you guys have some crazy womas mine is amazing though just love them with a passion. after i pick up and check on my other snakes and i take him out he will start bending his head and smelling my hand looking like hes going to bite so i let him but he so far has never tried so i will just have to see. you got a love em.

My adult male Woma looked at my hand once, like he was going to bite it, when I purchased him a year ago. My friend stopped him. Now I wish I would have left him on my hand to see if he would have. He did strike at the glass last week but I am sure it was more of a feeding response since he does get handled. He was fed smaller meals that month so that is probably why.

My female is great. Even when she was getting her SIX (separate days) antibiotic injections she never attempted any harm towards me.

As for feeding, I swear if I toss in a rat COLD they would eat it without a problem. They are so easy to feed some days it makes me want to get rid of my ball morphs.
It seems that all of the Australian species are easy to feed. Even my Anthill pythons are a breeze, after they have been established that is.

Tom, I would generally agree. But this girl will often wrap after she has been out of her cage for awhile and she does strike at the glass. I think she may just be a bit unusual.

Wrapping is a dead giveaway that the snake's behaviour is being mischaracterised here.

Yup! That's her...when she was in her neo rack, I'd enter my snake room for daily cleanings, and by the time I left, I'd have to push her shoebox back in its slot. She'd launch it at least an inch or 2 with repeated strikes..LOL.

She's still one of my favorites. Between the hissing, mouth gaping, attempted scale rasping (she still doesn't know she's not a saw scaled viper), and the way she launches herself w/ each strike (doesn't know she's not a jumping viper either), she's possibly the most interesting snake in my collection! :-O
