incubators

fattiesnleos Mar 25, 2008 12:35 PM

hello all, i breed leopard geckos and fat tails mainly but have all sorts of ground dwelling species that i breed on a small scale. my question is does anyone know of a good incubator that has a thermostat and can hold the same capacity of at least 2 hovabators? i also want a clear door and it of course needs to be very sufficient. and dont have time to make one and i am soooo sick of constantly monitoring my hovas!!! i live in southern cali and the temps surprisingly change very rapidly and i dont have a a/c or a heater so my houses temp is constantly changing, which intern causes a temp change in my hovas. anyhow thanks for any help!

Man, I know exactly what your saying. I live in Ca myself and had the same problem with the hovabators last year. This is why I came out with this incubator that obviously warms as an incubator should, however, it cools down as well if necessary with accuraty within tenths of a degree. I later found out there's a similar incubator like mine out in the market, only much smaller and with a solid door. It looks like a good product, but be ready to dish out some mulah for it.
Check out Avey incubators for their version.

Just wondering where you got the incubator or did you make it from an old fridge of some sort? If so how?

Thanks Vincet

This is not your ordinary "Old fridge incubator." I made it out of a wine cooler. I've actually posted a brief explanation on this in the Cage & Habitat designs forums back on Feb 28. Check it out, I hope it helps.
