Has anyone used soft fur rats for feeding their adult corns? I'm looking into breeding these guys but think an adult rat would be far too large for my corns to eat.
Thanks.

I have. Not only do my corns like them, but so do my king and pine snakes. ASFRs are fast breeders, but they're also "eating machines," consuming a surprisingly large amount of food compared to the mice and rats commonly bred for snake food.

Thanks tspuckler for the info. I wasn't sure if they could handle them or not. I'll have to look into breeding these guys then. Mice are just plain stinky.

Why raise the rats to adulthood at all. the only adults you need is a small harem of girls and one very happy male.

Rat pups are a good size, they feed on moms milk, (always free) and have insufficient teeth to hurt your snake.

No stink or cannibalizing the babies.

My two cents...

Kind regards, and good luck.
