i need help with making a DIY feeder dish to hold mealworms. i need to make sure that this "chamber" is inescapable for the mealworms while at the same time not being too tall/big to fit in a small corner of a 10-15 gallon tank

I feed mealworms out of teacups. Likewise any slick sided container will work if it is more than an inch or so deep.

can you show me an example?

would a peanut butter jar lid work? im afraid the mealworms will climb out of the ridges on the inside of the lid the part where it screws onto the jar)

As in a tea cup....like you drink from. A PB jar lid is too shallow and the worms do climb the ridges. Something in the Inch and a half deep range and SMOOTH sides works fine.

im not sure what kidn of teacup your talking about, i was thinkign the small chinese kinds

Just your grocery store, off the shelf coffee or tea cup.....like we drink cocoa out of. Or, in this house, feed sugar glider their mealworms in.
Anything smooth sided, ceramic and more than a inch and a half deep will work. Or you can google for images.
